Northeast-10 Conference Volleyball All Conference Teams Announced

The College of Saint Rose’s Stephanie Brink has been named the 2006 Northeast-10 Player of the Year. A native of Port Ewen, N.Y., the junior outside hitter has led the Golden Knights to the top seed in the
conference tournament and Northeast-10 Regular Season title. Brink leads the Northeast-10 in kills with 4.46 and is second in hitting percentage (.383) behind teammate Sally Munter (.389). Brink is the first Saint Rose player to earn Player of the Year honors.
Also from Saint Rose, senior Shannon Campbell was named the Setter of the Year, while coach Brian Goodale earned Coach of the Year in a vote of his peers. Campbell, a native from Burnt Hills, N.Y. leads the Northeast-10 in assists (12.35). Goodale captured the programs first Northeast-10 Regular Season Title and completed the regular season perfect at 14-0 and 23-4 overall. Goodale also received Coach of the Year honors in 2004.
Bentley College’s Alex Kearney was named the Northeast-10 Freshman of the Year. The La Jolla, Calif. native is currently second in the league in kills (3.99) behind Brink. Kearney helped lead the Falcons to a 23-10 overall record and the team’s 26th trip to the conference tournament as the number two seed. Colleen Eddy of Southern New Hampshire University earned Libero of the Year honors. From Dracut, Mass., Eddy is fourth in the Northeast-10 in digs with 5.42.
Brink and Campbell were named to the Northeast-10 First Team. Also on the First Team are Bentley’s Kearney and teammate Christina Sadowski. Bryant University’s Jessica Cegarra and Tiffany Garry and Le Moyne College’s Julie McLaud, round out this year’s First Team All-Conference.
Earning Northeast-10 Second Team honors from Bentley is Tori Piskulick, Franklin Pierce College’s Nicole Buchholz and Le Moyne’s Jody Hammond. Also being honored from The University of Massachusetts Lowell are teammates Caitlin Harte and Elsa LeGrand. Danielle Furka from Pace University also earned the honor.
As well as earning Libero of the Year honors, Eddy was named to the Northeast-10 Third Team along with Assumption College’s Lauren Raswyick, Franklin Pierce’s Karissa Hookstadt and Le Moyne’s Elizabeth Cheek. Southern Connecticut State University’s Nekane Mendizabal and Saint Rose’s Sally Munter achieved Third Team honors.
